Sedintele de psihoterapie de familie se desfasoara intr-un cadru securizant in care clientii/pacientii vin benevol, sau la recomandarea unui membru de familie, invitatie din partea psihoterapeutului, sau la recomandarea unui medic/psihiatru.
Inca din prima sedinta de terapiei de familie accentual se pune pe confidentialitate, ascultare activa, empatie si acceptare. Pentru ca o relatie terapeut-client sa functioneaze, este nevoie de incredere si deschidere din partea tuturor participantilor la procesul terapeutic. Participantii pot fi membrii familiei (parinti, copii, bunici, matusi si unchi orice persoana care are o influenta pternica in cadrul sistemului familial).
Durata unei sedinte de psihoterapie de familie: 90 min, iar onorariul se stabileste in prima sedinta de terapie de familie.
